Shame on you

Summer 2011. In the hours following DSK's arrest after he assaulted a chambermaid at the Sofitel, Anne-Cécile Genre and Marine Pradel were the first on the scene. During that very unusual summer, they covered every aspect of this unprecedented sex scandal as best they could, recording hours and hours of footage from the streets of the Bronx to the courtroom of the Manhattan courthouse. Twelve years later, the authors revisit their recordings of the DSK affair. And the memories that come back leave a bitter taste. As young journalists, as women, as French women, they are left with a feeling of immense waste: this story should have been told differently.

In 2011, photojournalists Marine Pradel and Anne-Cécile Genre covered the DSK affair in New York. Twelve years later, #MeToo has changed everything. In this immersive eight-episode audio documentary, the authors revisit their investigation and take us behind the scenes of the newsroom to reveal a new, never-before-heard story.

An 8-episode podcast, to be listened to in the order in which the episodes were published.

An immersive documentary

Slate Audio's opinion

"In this documentary, two journalists attempt to understand why Nafissatou Diallo's rape accusation against Dominique Strauss-Kahn did not trigger the #MeToo movement. While engaging in self-criticism, Marine Pradel and Anne-Cécile Genre explore the factors that made the "DSK affair" what it is. The role of the media, internalized racism, "rape culture," misogyny, and conspiracy theories: in eight episodes, the two journalists completely change our perspective on this case and those that followed."

BLACK DAY

JOUR NOIR is the story of a black man who, on his 30th birthday, asks himself the question of fatherhood: "Am I ready to become a father?" He senses that his hesitation to become one is linked to the social experiences that his skin color leads him to live. He then offers us an experiment: to spend a day with him in public spaces.
