Samuel Paty, the story of a teacher.

On October 16, 2020, Samuel Paty was beheaded by a Chechen Islamist. He had just turned 47. He was a history and geography teacher at a middle school in Yvelines and the father of a young boy. How could such an act have been committed in France just five years ago?
After a rigorous and impartial investigation, Crayon noir retraces the origins of this extraordinary crime, which became a national trauma, and describes the chain of events that made it possible. It also takes us into the world of teaching and addresses the "aftermath."
Samuel Paty was not a hero, but a passionate, quiet, discreet man. He loved 80s rock music, talking about philosophy, and playing ping-pong with his colleagues. Crayon noir pays tribute to this dark knight of the Republic, who became a symbol despite himself.
