Adapted from the graphic novelLa Bombe (Alcante, Bollée, Rodier – Glénat), it is presented as a scientific and historical thriller.
La Bombeis a captivating fresco on human responsibility in the face of science and its irreversible consequences. Using the codes of fiction but with scientific and historical rigor, our series is dedicated to a wide and global audience.
The story follows Leo Szilard, a Jewish-Hungarian physicist who was both the instigator of the project and an opponent of the use of the bomb. From Europe to the United States and on to Japan, his journey reveals the ethical dilemmas of a man who has been erased from history. From 1933 to 1945, the series retraces in real time the crucial choices between scientific advancement and mass destruction, a just war against Nazi Germany, and the final decision to strike Hiroshima. At a time when the nuclear threat is resurfacing,The Bombquestions the legacy of this invention. Each episode combines 26 minutes of animation from the graphic novel with archival footage and interviews with experts and witnesses. Thanks to Unreal Engine, the transitions are fluid, enhancing immersion and emotion.
